Trip Overview
The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour with Kala Patthar landing and breakfast is the fastest, most comfortable and most spectacular way to see Mount Everest. In about 4 to 5 hours, you fly from Kathmandu into the heart of the Khumbu, land at Kala Patthar (5,545m) for close-up views of Everest (8,848.86m), and enjoy breakfast at Hotel Everest View before returning the same day. Nepal Trip Services designed this tour for helicopter lovers, photographers, families and travelers with limited time who want the full Everest experience without a two-week trek.
Why Choose an Everest Helicopter Tour from Kathmandu?
A classic Everest Base Camp trek takes 12 to 14 days of walking and acclimatization. This helicopter tour gives you the same world-famous views in one morning. It suits travelers who are short on time, people who cannot trek long distances, and anyone who wants a luxury Himalayan experience. You see Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche and Everest Base Camp from the air, all in a single flight.
Everest Helicopter Tour with Kala Patthar Landing
The high point of the trip is landing at Kala Patthar (5,545m), the most famous viewpoint in the Everest region. From here you get an unobstructed panorama of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori and Ama Dablam, plus a bird’s-eye view of Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and the Khumbu Icefall. Ground time is usually 5 to 10 minutes because of the extreme altitude, which is enough for photos and memories to last a lifetime.
Everest Breakfast Helicopter Tour at Hotel Everest View
On the return flight, the helicopter lands at Syangboche for breakfast at Hotel Everest View (3,880m). Once listed by Guinness World Records as the highest-placed hotel, it is famous for its terrace views of Everest and Ama Dablam. Breakfast here is one of the most memorable meals in the Himalayas.

Best Time for an Everest Helicopter Tour
The best seasons are autumn (October–November) and spring (March–May), when skies are clear and mountain views are sharpest. Winter (December–February) also brings crisp, clear mornings, though it is colder at altitude. Flights operate year-round, but monsoon months (June–September) carry a higher risk of weather delays. Early morning departures give the best visibility in every season. For weather, temperatures, crowds and flight tips for every month of the year, read our Best Time for an Everest Helicopter Tour: Month-by-Month Guide.
Private vs Group Sharing Everest Helicopter Tour
You can book a private Everest helicopter charter for complete flexibility and exclusive use of the aircraft, or join a group sharing helicopter tour to reduce the cost per person. Each helicopter typically carries up to 5 passengers, depending on weight and altitude limits. Our team will help you choose the best option for your budget and travel dates.
Altitude, Safety & Weather Information
Safety is our top priority. Flights are operated by experienced Himalayan pilots in well-maintained helicopters suited to high-altitude flying. Because of the thin air at Kala Patthar, landing time is kept short to prevent altitude sickness. All flights depend on the weather, and if conditions are unsafe, the pilot may change the landing point or reschedule the flight. Travelers with serious heart or breathing conditions should consult a doctor before booking.

- Lay out warm clothes and your passport
- Charge your camera, phone and power bank
- Go to bed early, since it's an early start
5:30 AM – Hotel Pick-Up in Kathmandu
Our representative meets you in your hotel lobby and drives you in a private vehicle to Tribhuvan International Airport. Kathmandu's streets are quiet at this hour, so the drive is usually short.
6:00 AM – Airport Check-In & Safety Briefing
At the domestic terminal, our team handles the check-in formalities and permits. You'll meet your pilot and receive a pre-flight safety briefing, which covers:
- How to approach and leave the helicopter safely
- Seatbelt and headset use
- Landing procedures at Kala Patthar
- Altitude sickness awareness
Passenger and baggage weights are checked, and the pilot assigns seats.
6:30 AM – Takeoff from Kathmandu (1,400m)
Your helicopter lifts off over Kathmandu Valley and heads east toward the Everest region. Over about 45 to 50 minutes, you fly over:
- Terraced hillsides and traditional villages
- The winding Sunkoshi and Dudh Koshi rivers
- The Himalayan range coming into view, including Langtang, Gaurishankar and Rolwaling on clear days
Tip: Sit on the left side for the best mountain views on the way out.
7:20 AM – Lukla Refuelling Stop (2,860m)
The helicopter lands at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, famous for its dramatic short runway and known as the gateway to Everest. The stop takes about 10 to 15 minutes while the pilot refuels and adjusts the load for high-altitude flying.
On heavier flights, some passengers may continue to Kala Patthar in two short shuttle trips for safety.
7:45 AM – Scenic Flight into the Khumbu
Now comes the most spectacular part of the journey. The helicopter flies up the Khumbu Valley, past:
- Namche Bazaar (3,440m): The Sherpa capital, shaped like a horseshoe on the hillside
- Tengboche Monastery (3,867m): The largest monastery in the Khumbu, with Ama Dablam behind it
- Pheriche and Lobuche: High Sherpa settlements along the trekking trail
- The Khumbu Glacier: A vast river of ice and rock
- Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and the Khumbu Icefall: The starting point for summit expeditions
8:00 AM – Kala Patthar Landing (5,545m)
The highlight of the tour. The helicopter lands on Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint in the Everest region. Step out to a breathtaking 360° panorama:
- Mount Everest (8,848.86m), right in front of you
- Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori and Changtse
- Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Glacier below
You have 5 to 10 minutes on the ground for photos, videos and taking in the moment.
Move slowly, breathe deeply and tell the pilot right away if you feel unwell.
8:25 AM – Breakfast at Hotel Everest View (3,880m)
The helicopter descends to Syangboche, a short walk from Hotel Everest View, once listed by Guinness World Records as the highest-placed hotel. Enjoy a warm breakfast on the terrace with views of:
- Mount Everest
- Ama Dablam
- Thamserku and Kangtega
You have 45 to 60 minutes to relax, warm up, take photos and let your body recover from the high altitude.
If you've booked a proposal or celebration add-on, this is when the champagne and cake come out.
9:30 AM – Return Flight via Lukla (2,860m)
After breakfast, the helicopter flies back down the valley to Lukla for a quick refuelling stop, with one last look at the Khumbu peaks.
10:30 AM – Arrival in Kathmandu & Hotel Drop-Off
You land at Tribhuvan International Airport, where our team meets you and drives you back to your hotel. You're back by late morning, with the rest of the day free to explore Kathmandu.

Helicopter Type & Passenger Capacity
Helicopter Used
Airbus H125 (AS350 B3e), the most trusted helicopter for high-altitude flights in the Himalayas
- Built for high altitudes: A powerful engine designed to perform in thin mountain air
- Record-setting model: In 2005, an AS350 B3 made the world’s first and only helicopter landing on the summit of Mount Everest
- Large windows: Wide panoramic views, ideal for photos and videos
- Widely used in Nepal: The standard aircraft for Everest tours, mountain rescues and expeditions
The exact helicopter can vary by operator and availability, but all aircraft used are approved for high-altitude flying.
Passenger Capacity
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Crew | 1 experienced Himalayan pilot |
| Maximum passengers | Up to 5 |
| Seating | 1 front seat beside the pilot and 4 rear seats |
| Weight limit | Depends on total passenger weight and altitude |
How Altitude Affects Capacity
- The higher the helicopter flies, the less weight it can carry safely.
- Up to 5 passengers can fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and Syangboche.
- At Kala Patthar (5,545m), the pilot may fly passengers up in two short shuttles from a lower point for safety.
- Please share each passenger’s approximate weight when booking.
Seat Allocation
- The pilot assigns seats based on weight and balance.
- The front seat offers the best views but is not guaranteed on sharing flights.
- Private charters give more flexibility in choosing seats.

Tips for the Best Experience
- Book 1 to 2 weeks ahead in peak seasons
- Keep 1 to 2 spare days in case of weather delays
- Choose autumn for the best views, or winter for fewer crowds
Weather Conditions & Flight Delays
Typical Temperatures on Tour Day
| Location | Altitude | Morning Temperature |
|---|---|---|
| Kathmandu | 1,400m | 5°C to 20°C, depending on the season |
| Lukla | 2,860m | -5°C to 10°C |
| Hotel Everest View | 3,880m | -10°C to 5°C |
| Kala Patthar | 5,545m | -20°C to -5°C, colder with wind |
Temperatures vary by season. Wind chill at Kala Patthar can make it feel much colder.
Common Causes of Flight Delays
- Morning fog in Kathmandu, especially from December to February
- Low clouds around Lukla and the Khumbu valley
- Strong winds at high altitude
- Rain or snow during the monsoon and winter
- Poor visibility on the flight route
- Air traffic at Kathmandu airport in peak season
What Happens If There Is a Delay?
| Situation | What We Do |
|---|---|
| Short delay | Wait at the airport or hotel until the weather clears |
| Cancelled on the day | Reschedule to the next available day |
| Weather changes in the air | The pilot may choose another safe landing point |
| Repeated cancellations | Full refund or a switch to another tour |
Our Safety Promise
- The weather is checked before every flight
- The pilot makes the final decision on flying

Tips to Avoid Disappointment
- Keep 1 to 2 spare days in your Nepal itinerary

- Choose autumn or winter for the most reliable weather

Altitude Sickness Precautions
Is There a Risk?
The risk is low because you spend only 5 to 10 minutes at Kala Patthar (5,545m) and descend quickly. However, the sudden climb from Kathmandu (1,400m) can cause mild symptoms in some passengers.
Common Symptoms
| Mild (common) | Serious (rare on this tour) |
|---|---|
| Light headache | Severe headache |
| Dizziness | Confusion |
| Shortness of breath | Loss of balance |
| Tiredness | Chest tightness |
| Mild nausea | Vomiting |
Mild symptoms usually ease quickly once the helicopter descends.
Before the Flight
- Get a good night’s sleep
- Drink plenty of water the day before
- Avoid alcohol the night before
- Eat a light snack, not a heavy meal
- Talk to your doctor if you have heart, lung or blood pressure conditions
- Ask your doctor whether altitude medication is right for you
At Kala Patthar
- Step out of the helicopter slowly
- Walk gently and avoid running or jumping
- Breathe slowly and deeply
- Don’t climb or walk far from the helicopter
- Tell the pilot immediately if you feel unwell
After Landing
- Rest and drink warm fluids at Hotel Everest View
- Most symptoms fade as you go lower
- Tell our team if any symptoms continue

Medication & Health Tips
- Carry any personal medication you need, such as an inhaler or heart medicine
- Tell us about medical conditions when booking

- Give each passenger’s approximate weight for safety planning
- Follow the pilot’s instructions during the flight
This information is general guidance only. Always consult your doctor if you have health concerns before high-altitude travel.
Passenger Weight Limit & Seat Allocation
Why Weight Matters
At high altitude, the air is thin and the helicopter’s lifting power drops. Controlling total weight keeps every flight safe, especially when landing at Kala Patthar (5,545m).
Weight Guidelines
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Maximum passengers | Up to 5 per helicopter |
| Standard passenger weight | Up to [100] kg per person |
| Passengers over [100] kg | May need to book an extra seat or pay a surcharge |
| Total payload | Set by the pilot based on altitude, temperature and fuel |
| Baggage allowance | A small daypack, up to [X] kg per person |
Shuttle Landings at Kala Patthar
- On heavier flights, the pilot may fly passengers to Kala Patthar in two short trips.
- The first group waits briefly at a lower point such as Pheriche or Lobuche.
- This is normal, safe practice in the Everest region.
- Every passenger still gets the Kala Patthar landing experience.
Seat Allocation
| Seat | Details |
|---|---|
| Front seat (beside the pilot) | The widest views, assigned by the pilot |
| Rear window seats | Great side views for photos |
| Rear middle seats | Limited views, rotated where possible |
- On sharing tours, the pilot assigns seats based on weight and balance.
- On private charters, you have more flexibility to choose seats.
- Seats may be rotated between flight legs so everyone gets good views.
- The front seat cannot be guaranteed on sharing flights.
What We Need When You Book
- The full name of each passenger (as in their passport)
- The approximate body weight of each passenger
- Any special seating needs
Good to Know
- Please give your honest weight. It is for your safety, not judgment.
- Weight may be checked at the airport before the flight.
- The pilot always has the final decision on seating and load.
Travel Insurance for an Everest Helicopter Tour
Is Travel Insurance Required?
Travel insurance is not mandatory for this tour, but it is strongly recommended. It protects you against weather cancellations, medical emergencies and unexpected travel changes.
What Your Insurance Should Cover

What to Wear on an Everest Helicopter Tour
Why Dress Warmly?
Kathmandu may feel mild, but Kala Patthar (5,545m) is often -20°C to -5°C, with strong, icy winds. Dress in layers so you can stay warm up high and comfortable down low.
Head-to-Toe Clothing Guide
| Body Part | What to Wear |
|---|---|
| Head | Warm wool or fleece hat (beanie) |
| Eyes | UV-protection sunglasses |
| Neck | Scarf or neck gaiter (buff) |
| Base layer | Thermal top, merino wool or synthetic |
| Middle layer | Fleece jacket or warm sweater |
| Outer layer | Down or insulated windproof jacket |
| Hands | Warm gloves (touchscreen gloves are useful for photos) |
| Legs | Warm trousers or thermal leggings under pants |
| Feet | Warm socks and closed shoes with good grip |
Seasonal Tips
| Season | Extra Advice |
|---|---|
| Autumn (Sep–Nov) | A down jacket, gloves and a hat are essential |
| Winter (Dec–Feb) | A heavy down jacket, thermal layers and thick gloves |
| Spring (Mar–May) | Warm layers, plus a lighter jacket for Kathmandu |
| Monsoon (Jun–Aug) | A waterproof jacket and quick-dry clothing |
What to Avoid
- Sandals, flip-flops or high heels
- Loose hats or scarves that can blow away near the rotor blades
- Only one thick layer (layers work better)
- Long dresses or skirts, which are hard to manage when climbing in and out
- Bulky clothing that limits movement in the seat
Smart Tips
- Wear your layers rather than packing them, since bag space is limited
- Take layers off at Hotel Everest View if you get warm
- Bring lip balm and sunscreen, because the sun is strong at altitude
- Choose dark-colored clothing to reduce window reflections in photos
Don’t Have Warm Gear?
No problem. You can rent or buy down jackets, gloves and hats in Thamel, Kathmandu, at affordable prices. Our team can help you find them.

Smartphone Tips
- Turn HDR on for bright snow and dark valleys
- Tap to focus on the mountain, not the window
- Try panorama mode at Kala Patthar
- Use video mode for the takeoff and landing
- Turn the flash off
Shooting Through the Window
- Hold the lens close to the glass, but don’t press it against it
- Wear dark clothing to reduce reflections
- Use a rubber lens hood or cup your hand around the lens
- Avoid polarizing filters, which can create rainbow patterns on the window
- Wipe the window and lens with a microfiber cloth
Cold Weather Care
- Carry spare batteries, because the cold drains them quickly
- Keep batteries and your phone in an inner pocket
- Avoid lens fog by not breathing on the lens
Make the Most of Kala Patthar (5–10 minutes)
- Have your camera on and ready before landing
- Shoot the wide view first, then close-ups and selfies
- Take one group photo with the helicopter and Everest behind you
- Don’t spend the whole time on photos, and enjoy the moment too
Photography Rules
- No drones without an official permit
- No flash inside the cabin, since it distracts the pilot
- Don’t block the pilot’s view or controls
- GoPros and action cameras are welcome when handheld or secured safely
Drone Rules in the Everest Region
Quick Answer
Drones are not allowed on the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour. Flying a drone in the Everest region requires several government approvals, and drones are unsafe near operating helicopters.
Why Drones Are Restricted
- The Everest region lies inside Sagarmatha National Park, a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Helicopter traffic is heavy, and drones can endanger flights
- Drones can disturb wildlife and local communities
- Nepal actively enforces its drone laws
Permissions Needed to Fly a Drone
| Step | Authority |
|---|---|
| 1 | Drone registration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) |
| 2 | Approval from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) |
| 3 | Approval from the Solukhumbu District Administration Office |
| 4 | Final permission from Sagarmatha National Park |
The process takes time and involves fees, so it is not practical for a same-day helicopter tour.
Penalties for Flying Without a Permit
- The drone is confiscated by police or park officials
- Fines may be imposed
- Trekking permission may be denied
Drone Rules on Our Helicopter Tour
- No drone flying at Kala Patthar, Hotel Everest View or any landing point
- No drone flying near the helicopter or helipads
- Please leave drones at your Kathmandu hotel
Better Alternatives for Great Footage
- Action cameras such as a GoPro (handheld or secured)
- Smartphone video in 4K or slow motion
- A wide-angle lens for sweeping Himalayan views
- Aerial shots from the helicopter itself, which beat a drone view

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
General Questions
1. What is the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour?
It is a same-day helicopter flight from Kathmandu into the Everest (Khumbu) region. You fly over Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche and Everest Base Camp, then land at Kala Patthar (5,545m) for close-up views of Mount Everest. On the way back, you stop for breakfast at Hotel Everest View before returning to Kathmandu. It is the fastest way to experience Everest without trekking.
2. How long does the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour take?
The whole tour takes about 4 to 5 hours, including hotel pick-up, the refuelling stop at Lukla, the Kala Patthar landing and the breakfast stop. Most flights leave early in the morning and return to Kathmandu around midday, so you still have the afternoon free.
3. Can I visit Everest Base Camp in one day?
Yes. The helicopter tour is the only practical way to see Everest Base Camp and Mount Everest in a single day. By comparison, the classic Everest Base Camp trek takes 12 to 14 days.
4. Does the helicopter land at Everest Base Camp?
Most tours do not land at Everest Base Camp itself. They fly over it and land at Kala Patthar (5,545m) instead. This is actually better for sightseeing, because the summit of Everest cannot be seen from Base Camp, while Kala Patthar gives a clear, full view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Pumori, with Base Camp visible below.
5. Why is the landing at Kala Patthar and not Everest Base Camp?
Kala Patthar is the best viewpoint in the Everest region. It sits higher than Base Camp and looks straight at the summit of Everest. Landings at Base Camp are also restricted and less practical because of the uneven glacier terrain and expedition activity.
6. How long can we stay at Kala Patthar?
Ground time at Kala Patthar is usually 5 to 10 minutes. The air at 5,545m holds roughly half the oxygen available at sea level, so a short stop keeps you safe from altitude sickness while giving you enough time for photos and views.
7. Where do we have breakfast during the tour?
Breakfast is served at Hotel Everest View in Syangboche (3,880m). Once listed by Guinness World Records as the highest-placed hotel, it is famous for its terrace views of Everest and Ama Dablam. You usually spend about 45 minutes to an hour there.
8. Which mountains will I see during the flight?
You will see Mount Everest (8,848.86m), Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, Thamserku, Kangtega, Cho Oyu and many other peaks. On the flight from Kathmandu, you may also see the Langtang, Gaurishankar and Rolwaling ranges on clear days.
Cost & Booking
9. How much does the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour cost?
The cost depends on whether you choose a group sharing flight or a private charter, and on the season. Sharing flights are priced per person and are the most affordable option. Private charters are priced per helicopter, so the cost per person falls as more people share it. Contact Nepal Trip Services for the latest rates and available dates.
10. What is the difference between a sharing and a private helicopter tour?
On a group sharing tour, you share the helicopter with other travelers, which lowers the cost per person. On a private charter, the helicopter is reserved for your group alone, giving you full flexibility, a private experience and the option to choose your departure time. Private tours are popular with families, couples and photographers.
11. How many passengers can a helicopter carry?
Each helicopter carries up to 5 passengers, depending on total passenger weight and the weather. At high altitude, the helicopter’s lifting power drops, so on some flights the pilot carries passengers to Kala Patthar in two short shuttles from a lower point such as Pheriche or Lobuche. This is a normal and safe practice in the Everest region.
12. How do I book the Everest Helicopter Tour with Nepal Trip Services?
You can book through our website, by email or by WhatsApp. Share your preferred date, number of passengers and whether you want a sharing or private flight. Once you confirm, we secure your seat and send you all the details. We recommend booking early during peak seasons.
13. Is there a weight limit for passengers?
Yes. Because of altitude limits, the total weight in the helicopter is closely controlled. Please share each passenger’s approximate body weight when booking so we can plan seating and balance safely. Passengers over a certain weight may need to book an extra seat.
14. What is the cancellation and refund policy?
If your flight is cancelled because of bad weather or safety concerns, we will reschedule it to the next available date or refund according to our policy. Cancellations made by the traveler are subject to cancellation charges depending on how close they are to the flight date. Please read our full terms and conditions before booking.
Weather & Best Time
15. What is the best time for an Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour?
The best seasons are autumn (October to November) and spring (March to May), when skies are clear and the mountain views are sharpest. Winter (December to February) also offers crisp, clear mornings, though it is colder at altitude. Early morning flights give the best visibility in every season.
16. Can I do the Everest helicopter tour during the monsoon?
Yes, flights run year-round, but the monsoon (June to September) brings more clouds and rain, which increases the chance of delays or limited views. If you are traveling in the monsoon, keep at least one or two spare days in your schedule in case the flight is postponed.
17. What happens if the weather is bad on my flight day?
Safety always comes first. If the weather is unsafe, the flight will be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled. Sometimes the pilot may change the landing point to a safer viewpoint. We will keep you updated and help you rebook as quickly as possible.
Safety & Health
18. Is the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour safe?
Yes. Flights are operated by experienced pilots trained for high-altitude Himalayan flying, using well-maintained helicopters such as the Airbus H125 (AS350 B3e), which is widely used for mountain operations. Weather checks are done before every flight, and the pilot will not fly unless conditions are safe.
19. Will I get altitude sickness on the helicopter tour?
The risk is low because the time spent at high altitude is very short. Some passengers may feel mild dizziness, shortness of breath or a headache at Kala Patthar. Move slowly, avoid heavy exertion, and tell the pilot if you feel unwell. The symptoms usually ease quickly once you descend.
20. Is oxygen available on the helicopter?
Yes, emergency oxygen is carried on board as a safety measure for passengers who need it.
21. Can children and elderly people join the tour?
Yes. The tour is suitable for most ages, including children and senior travelers, because it requires no trekking. However, babies and very young children are more sensitive to altitude, and people with heart, lung or blood pressure conditions should consult a doctor first. Pregnant women are advised not to take high-altitude flights.
22. Do I need travel insurance for the helicopter tour?
Travel insurance is not mandatory for this tour, but it is strongly recommended. Choose a policy that covers high-altitude helicopter flights, trip cancellations and medical emergencies.
Preparation & On the Day
23. What should I wear for the Everest Helicopter Tour?
Dress in warm layers. Even on sunny days, temperatures at Kala Patthar can be well below freezing, especially with wind. Bring a down or insulated jacket, gloves, a warm hat, sunglasses and comfortable shoes with good grip. Sunscreen is also useful because UV levels are very high at altitude.
24. What should I bring on the tour?
Bring your passport, camera or phone with extra batteries, warm clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen and a small water bottle. Keep your bag small and light, because luggage space and weight are limited on the helicopter.
25. What time does the helicopter tour start?
Flights usually depart between 6:00 and 7:00 AM to make the most of clear morning skies. Our team will pick you up from your Kathmandu hotel and transfer you to the airport. The exact time is confirmed the evening before your flight.
26. Which seat is the best for photography?
The front seat next to the pilot offers the widest views, while the side window seats are also excellent for photos. Seating is usually decided by the pilot based on weight and balance. On a private charter, you have more flexibility to request specific seats.
27. Can I fly a drone during the tour?
No. Flying drones in Nepal requires special government permission, and drones are generally not allowed inside Sagarmatha National Park without a permit. You are welcome to take photos and videos with cameras, phones and action cameras during the flight.
28. Do I need permits for the Everest Helicopter Tour?
Yes. You need a Sagarmatha National Park entry permit and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality fee. Nepal Trip Services arranges these for you as part of the package. Please carry your passport on the day of the flight.
Comparisons & Options
29. What is the difference between the Everest helicopter tour and the Everest mountain flight?
The Everest mountain flight is a one-hour sightseeing flight on a small airplane that circles near Everest without landing. The Everest Base Camp helicopter tour takes you much closer, lands at Kala Patthar at 5,545m and includes breakfast at Hotel Everest View. The helicopter tour costs more but gives a far more personal and immersive experience.
30. Can I combine the helicopter tour with a trek, a proposal or a special celebration?
Yes. Many travelers combine the flight with the Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return, trekking up and flying back to save time. The helicopter tour is also a popular choice for marriage proposals, anniversaries, birthdays and honeymoons, and Nepal Trip Services can arrange special touches such as champagne or flowers.
